Ken Freeman is an ordained Christian minister based in Dallas, Texas, USA who since the late 1970s has
been concerned about the impact of abortion and other life-dominating problems. As a result, the first workbook
was distributed under the cover title of "OVERCOMING ABORTION'S AFTERMATH" as a recorded audio tape in the mid 1980's. This
tape and his presence on national television (*PTL, CBN, Richard Roberts Show, Carmen Live) brought so many requests for help,
that "HEALING THE HURTS OF ABORTION" was written in 1988. This led to the expansion of recovery support among crisis pregnancy
centers and churches.
From age six, Ken felt the call to minister. He called his Mom and Dad into the bed room where he had set up a piano stool covered with a towel
and preached a simple sermon to them reading primitively as a first grader would do from a lesson learned at Sunday School. Then, at age 12,
was baptized. But no one warned me about what was about to happen. My enemy, satan, unleased a number of assignments from hell against me introducing me
to porn at 13, to sex at 14, alcohol at 15, drugs at 16 and rock n roll from the age of 13 until age 24. I say, as a teen I went to hell, didn't pass go,
and did not collect $200 along the way. Instead, my addictions got worse, my behaviors more eratic, and paranoia was my life. I was part of an abortion
as an 18 year old. My older sister had an abortion at age 21. One of the guys in the rock n' roll band got someone pregnant who had an abortion.
Thus, I come to this ministry through a personal journey of healing myself.
Following a radical calvation at age 24, I began following the steps into ministry teaching Bible in church, leading small groups, study at
Dallas Theological Seminary and Biblical Counseling Foundation. I was used to help start a church in Dallas, TX. (Calvary Chapel of Dallas)

Through the years, as other needs arose, a workbook series was written and then expanded to the current "FREE ME TO LIVE" format to provide
an expanded, comprehensive recovery model that was "gender-neutral" and "issue-neutral." The book is written so that it can be used
by anyone (male or female, young or old, free or in prison) and for any issue (abortion, rape, incest, abuse, divorce, anger, etc).
